The Bay Area Track Club is proud to bring the second-annual Bay Area Cross Challenge (BAXC) to the San Francisco Bay Area community. This event is a unique opportunity for runners of all ability levels to compete alongside professional distance runners on a cross country course in the heart of San Francisco. Enjoy post-race food, prizes, and music as you meet and mingle with Olympians and world-class athletes.
Originally from Torrance, California, Mark competed at Loyola High School of Los Angeles as a prep. He currently lives in Berkeley, after recently completing his collegiate career for the California Golden Bears. He has a B.A. in Integrative Biology and a B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley.

Before becoming a Golden Bear, Mark topped his prep career with a U.S. Junior National Championship in the 1500m and a bronze medal at the Junior Pan American Championships that same summer. A four-time All-American at Cal, Mark started his career earning Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year honors in Cross Country in 2005 and finished by setting school records in the Mile indoors and 1500m outdoors in 2010. Mark is also on the school record-holding DMR team that finished 3rd at the Indoor NCAA Championships in 2009, and he captured the 2010 MPSF 3,000m championship.
