BATC Athletes work with high school athletes on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Campolindo High School, Moraga CA. Alysia Johnson, David Torrence, Magda Lewy-Boulet, Tom Kloos, Francis Gadayan, Mark Matusak, Brooke Wells, Alex Nelson and club president Tony Kauke presented sessions on strength, mobility, recovery, and speed dynamics.

High school athletes from Crystal Springs Uplands, Amador Valley, Miramonte, Alhambra, College Park and Campolindo were in attendance.

Tom is a California native who now lives, trains, and coaches in San Francisco.

  • 8:02 (3000m), 8:30.74 (3000m steeple), 13:54 (5000m)

  • A two-time Academic All-American at Columbia, Tom has competed at the national level since 2003 when he placed 9th at the USATF Championships in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. He had a banner season in 2009 after placing 6th in the USATF Championships in the steeple. He later set personal bests in the 3000m (8:02) and 5000m (13:54) while racing in Europe. He serves as the college/open representative for PAUSATF and is an assistant cross country and track coach for the University of San Francisco.
