JACK DANIELS
Jack Daniels, PhD brings with him a very unique background in both sport and exercise science. Daniels is a winner of silver and bronze Olympic medals in the modern pentathlon (Melbourne, 1956; Rome, 1960). He has coached 30 NCAA national individual champions, 8 NCAA national team champions, 130 All-American collegiate athletes, and numerous elite male and female marathon runners including an Olympic silver medalists. In NCAA competition, Daniels was named “Women’s Cross-Country Coach of the Century” and is a two-time recipient of the National Coach of the Year. In the mid-1990’s he was labeled the “World’s Best Running Coach” by Runner’s World. He is the author of Daniel's Running Formula published by Human Kinetics, and more than 50 articles and research studies involving elite athletes. Read more about Coach Daniels here. A current resident of Florida, John was the head coach at George Mason University for nineteen years. While perhaps best known for coaching milers Ibrahim Aden and Julius Achon and ending Arkansas’ twelve year streak of NCAA Indoor Championships in 1996, he has coached numerous Olympians since retiring from GMU. Along with helping Alberto Salazar and Nike get the Oregon Project underway, he has since coached several world-class women distance athletes including Erin Donohue, Shalane Flanagan, and Shannon Rowbury.
JOHN COOK
BOB SEVENE
AL BERRIN
Al is a thirty-one year coaching veteran. While holding USATF Level II Certification in sprints, hurdles, relays, and endurance, he has also served as a USATF Coaching Education Instructor. A retired public school teacher, he holds a M.A.P.E in Administration from St. Mary’s University.
For three years, Al was an assistant coach for the Nike Farm Team, where he worked with post-collegiate elite distance runners preparing for international competition. In addition to holding assistant coaching posts at University of San Francisco and Skyline College, he has coached at five high schools: St. Ignatius, South San Francisco, Pinole Valley, El Camino, and Westmoor. Al was voted the 2001-2 CIF Central Coast Section HS Track and Field Coach of the Year. A long time runner and student of the sport, Al has attended all but one Olympic Trials since ‘56.

TONY KAUKE
Tony has eleven years of experience coaching distance runners. A participant of the 2007 USATF Junior Elite coaching camp at the Olympic Training Center, he has coached at Piedmont High School, City College of San Francisco, and the Impala Racing Team—a post-collegiate training group based in San Francisco.
While at City College, he coached eleven Junior College All-Americans, twenty two conference champions, and won three team state titles. His Piedmont cross country teams enjoyed similar success, winning six league championships and three sectional crowns. Tony also coached three individual section champions in both track and cross country.
A senior buyer at The Sports Basement and Bay Area native, Tony had a decorated running career at The College of Wooster. He won six conference titles, set three school records, and was an Academic All-American.
