Alysia Johnson and Garrett Heath Both Make Finals at the World Indoor Championships

DOHA, Qatar – BATC Athletes Alysia Johnson (800m) and Garrett Heath (1500m) have both made the final in their respective events at the World Indoor Championships. Tim Bayley finished fourth in his heat of the1500m, just missing qualifying to the final by two spots.

 

Alysia Johnson qualified to the women’s 800m final by getting third in her heat of the semi-finals, running 2:01.55 to earn the first time-qualifying spot.

Garrett Heath, in a fast race from the gun, ended up in third place running an indoor personal best of 3:39.25, nabbing him the first time-qualifying spot.
 
After the race, Garrett said, "Good race, but I missed the gun. I didn't hear it, it didn't sound like a gun to me. But it worked out ok. I was a little farther back than I wanted to be but I stayed out of trouble. It was a lot of fun. I'm excited for tomorrow's final." (from USATF)

You can watch Garrett compete in the 1500m final on Saturday at 6:45am Pacific, and Alysia compete in the 800m final on Sunday, at 6:15am Pacific.
